Autism awareness comic book creators to hold “Face Value Comics” signings

Cover (1)Dover resident David Kot started off with an idea to create a handbook to help with his autism spectrum research for his doctorate degree a few years ago.

This idea grew into the now-published “Face Value Comics,” a series that helps kids with autism disorders learn about facial expressions in a fun, interactive way.

With his wife Angela and their artist friend, Sky, the trio put out their first edition on Dec. 24, and are working on follow-up issues now. Response from the community and even the world has been “phenomenal,” Kot said, with customers sharing personal stories as they purchase the comic.

Kot and Sky will be hosted by two York area comic book shops for signings this weekend:
